Since I was a kid, I've always loved cars. Back in the 1970's here in Australia, you were either a Holden or Ford fan. I was a Ford fan - I just never told anyone that I loved Holdens as well. My problem was that I loved all types of cars; big, small, American, British, Australian, cool and uncool... I just didn't care - If a car appealed to me, I wanted one. I haven't changed much and still think like that now. Sometimes though, I get it a bit wrong...
I've always liked the look of the Snipe. Five years ago, one popped up on eBay. It was grey with a red interior and was in very smart condition with an asking price of $2,500. I missed the end of the auction and the car went to another enthusiast. Shortly after, this one reared it's head. It was a deceased estate vehicle in sound condition, just a little down in terms of paint condition and was offered for sale close by. I wasn't going to miss this one, so went to see it and bought it on the spot. The seller owned an automotive battery shop, threw in a new battery and towed it to my mothers house where it was to be stored for six months until I was ready to begin work on it. As the weeks turned to months, I decided that I was over the Snipe and almost sold it on. That doesn't happen much to me, but with much reluctance, I had it towed to my house and begun work. I finished the car and sold it. I'm glad I had this car, but haven't wanted another at all.
