I bought this motor as a spare and used a lot of parts from it, including the transmission for the car. What was left, was lots of good kit which formed the basis of a sound engine. "Sound" in more ways than one...

Our beautiful Galaxie... had an issue with the parking pawl in the transmission. Rather than take it out from underneath, I decided to remove the front clip and take the power unit out by removing it forward of the car, off the chassis rails. A small fault here and there, dodgy brakes and a faulty heater, plus a shabby engine bay led to $6000 worth of parts and a heap of work! I ended up advertising this car after five years of ownership, got cold feet then withdrew the ad. Later on, the son of the original owner contacted me - he had to have it and I understood why, after all I still have one of my fathers cars. Sadly, I passed the car to him, but I know it has a terrific home.
