I was scratching around YouTube for a 351 Windsor rebuild, and fortunately I found you. : ) I am currently in the process of pulling the engine on my 1989 Ford 351W EFI. Since I have never rebuilt an engine before, I just wanted some insight from someone who has taken a similar venture. If I run into problems would I be able to contact you with questions? Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Peter, I recently purchased a 1962 Mk1 Wolseley 24/80 and was browsing the web and found your site. Wow, what can I say! Your sequence of video's has helped me immensely to say the least! I have watched them all on the Wolseley restoration. Please keep your web site going its fantastic for novices like me to get a better understanding on how to do things. I have just tried to buy a Z23 oil filter for the Bluestreak but am told Ryco do not make the filter any more. What adaptor do you think I should use and are they available on ebay?

Hi Peter i have been watching close your resto on the ford XC fairmont and recently restored XW 351 i cannot pick fault in any of your work amazing you have also built up a repore with suppliers for resources nothing goes to waste i love my fords i know your about half way through the XC restoration do you see yourself doing any more projects car restoration is expensive but when someone takes cars like you do and tranforms them like new is a testimony to you not many people can do all the things you can do i should of listened to my father i am 51 i would love to restore a ford XE i love the ESP model but its a bit out of my price range i am a pensioner and have physical limitations too my worry is not being able to weld my spray painting skills are not great either finding a clean XE shell might be hard and with a view to having V8 running gear not a 6 cylinder whats the right decision a donor car cheap for basic moulds bolts etc and what would one spend for a basic XE falcon Peter you must be heartened by the views and comments about your projects on youtube i thank you for all that you share it encourages me to want another project after 10 or so years away from them my other option is buy the rolling shell painted from somone who may be fed up the resto or run out of money various reasons i feel confident the put the electrics running gear interior suspension brakes all hardware in as you know if you dont do the hard yards with the body you dont get the results keep up the good work mate CHEERS Russel currently in the Philipinnes

With 2-pak etch primers, you can etch the bare metal, fill and block back, etch again then hi-fill. This way the bare metal is etched and the filler is sealed before being hi-fill primed. I only used single back stuff here because I don't have a booth. I very lightly etched the bare metal to seal it until I was ready to fill, then I took the etch off. You can't fill over a single pack etch, it isn't stable enough. So I filled over bare metal then etched over the top. Thanks for the comments. Cheers Peter

Sorry, the reason I threw etch down lightly the first time was to prevent surface rust until I was ready to fill - this was on the roof. Cheers Peter

Sorry Nev, I forgot to come here to check messages. I had two forks and they were both incorrect - too short. I was in a hurry to get the engine trans in the car so I went with the one that fitted the best. It works, but I will need to modify it by welding a nut further out to keep the pushrod in the correct place further out if that makes sense. I couldn't get the correct answer out of anyone with regard to this, so assumed that nobody had the right part. Sorry, crap news. Cheers

Hi Peter. My brother got wind of a project I’m undertaking and referred me to your YouTube channel. I immediately got stuck into the XW build (as this is what I’m doing). I enjoyed it and watched all 26 videos over 3 days (I do have a life haha, family and cars) I’d like to go into more depth of your build and any information you have on motor trimmers Jason’s wagon, as I’m doing a wagon for a 40th birthday present for my wife, a tribute to her late fathers XW fairmont wagon. Thanks in advance. I enjoyed series on the XW and I’ll be sure to check out the others

Unfortunately she’s only a 250 Crossy and I want to put the awesome 351 Cleveland heart into her. I’m by no means a mechanic with no experience on working with engines, I have myself an old P6 LTD 351 that I picked up up from gumtree. After seeing that kind of work you do I wouldn’t trust anyone else with the rebuild my engine - is this something you are able to do? Please let me let me know, I’m also in the eastern suburbs and I am happy to chat about it.
